Registration
DLP.info can be used without prior registration and providing of personal information but in order to use some features of the web site with full functionality a user must first complete a registration process for this part of the web site (e.g. chat, forum and contests). Profile
A profile is stored information kept by a web site on individual users that details their viewing preferences. DLP.info Team collects information through cookies and log files tied to users' personally identifiable information only in the chat and forum sections. These profiles also include the information that the registered users have provided during the registration process in these sections. Parts of the so called profiles created for registered users in the chat and forum sections are accessible to the public / other registered users but the user is informed which information will be displayed and can edit his profile at any time. These users' profiles may be shared by DLP.info Team with other third parties in aggregate form (not linked to any personally identifiable information).
Outside these two sections of DLP.info DLP.info Team does not store information collected through cookies, log files, and/or third parties tied to users' personally identifiable information in the sense of a profile as defined above.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. DDLP.info Team use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following the user's internet browser's help file directions.
DLP.info Team uses cookies to facilitate a user friendly experience and improve the efficiency of the web site. Log Files
Like most standard web site servers DLP.info Team uses log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, number of clicks and similar data. This information / the log files are used to analyze trends, administer and improve the web site, track users' movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not tied to personally identifiable informations with the exception of the registration/subscription processes and during visits to the chat- and forum-sections of DLP.info (so the user stays anonymous for DLP.info Team during a normal visit). But DLP.info Team reserves the right to use the information to identify a user when it feels it is necessary to enforce compliance with web site's rules or to protect the service, web site, its visitors or others.
To enhance the information from the log files DLP.info Team also works with the service provider Nedstat (see below in the section Service Providers).

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
Some of DLP.info Team's third party advertising companies / advertisers and the service provider Nedstat employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs). Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users. They can "work with" existing cookies on a computer if they are both from the same web site or advertising company. That means, for example, that if a person visited "www.companyX.com", which uses an advertising company's / the service provider's clear gif, the web site, advertising company or the service provider would match the clear gif's identifier and the cookie ID number, to show the past online behavior for that computer. Communications from the Web Site
DLP.info Team sends new registered users a welcoming e-mail to verify password and username or the subscription depending on the service the user has registered / subscribed for. Established members may occasionally receive information about interesting projects of DLP.info Team / features on DLP.info and strictly service related announcements (for instance if a service or a part or the whole web site is temporarily suspended for maintenance DLP.info Team might send users an e-mail). Newsletter
If a user wishes to subscribe to a newsletter or notification service DLP.info Team asks for contact information such as (but not necessarily limited to) an e-mail address. Guest Relations

Sharing
