Arcade Alpha & Arcade Beta

Ready for a spaceship battle or a less futuristic arcade game? Arcade Alpha and Arcade Beta are offering selected (up-charge) arcade games next to the entrance of the Videopolis.

To the left and the right of the main entrance to the auditorium of the Videopolis (on the lower level of Discoveryland, straight opposite the FastPass entrance of Space Mountain) the Arcade Alpha and Arcade Beta await guests with a limited selection of standard arcade (video) games. While not-Disney related in any way or form the arcade games might be just what some guests are looking for to distract them while the rest of their party stands in line for a ride on Autopia or relaxed a bit longer over their lunch or dinner inside the Cafe Hyperion - however, it should be noted that the "usual" charge applies to each arcade games, payable in coins directly at each game.

Tips

Access to both arcades may be restricted if a waiting line is set-up for an upcoming performance in the Videopolis. However, cast members will at all times be available to guide guests into any of the two arcades (and will check that guests in the arcade do not try to enter the theater bypassing the waiting line outside).

The two arcades were a late addition to Discoveryland as originally both areas were utilized by Philips the original sponsor of the Videopolis to showcase new and upcoming consumer electronic products - including game consoles from Philips which guests could try for free. Once Philips ended its sponsorship Disney closed down the two rooms before transforming them into up-charge arcades.

Limits

Parents should note that the arcade games on display in both arcades are not Disney themed and not necessarily recommended for all age groups, in fact guests will regularly find games targeting teenager and young adults.
