Restaurant Hakuna Matata

Pasta and salads within an African setting.

The Restaurant Hakuna Matata is loosely themed around Disney’s "The Lion King". The restaurant’s design was strongly influenced by authentic looking African architecture, which is conveyed through several interesting dinning areas.

Inside there is little to connect the restaurant with its movie counterpart except several dishes share their name with characters from the film and the soundtrack which plays throughout.

At selected times of the year Restaurant Hakuna Matata is often used as one of the character dinning locations in the park. During these events guests can enjoy a set menu tea, which usually includes pastries and drinks whist meeting with the characters from "The Lion King".

Specials

The Restaurant Hakuna Matata was originally known as Aux Epices Enchantées. However, after "The Lion King" was released in late 1994, Disneyland Paris re-named this fast food place to Restaurant Hakuna Matata so it would be more appealing to children and their parents, who knew the phrase "Hakuna Matata" from the highly-successful movie.

Another little known fact is, that the Restaurant Hakuna Matata shares its backstage area with the Fuente del Oro Restaurante in Frontierland. Both restaurants are built back to back, so that it's basically two eateries in one building.
