 With its latest parade Disney's Magic Kingdom invites guests to remember classic stories and fairy tales to let the dreams of eternal friends, princesses, dragons and daring princes come true. And with the help of a bit of Disney magic the dreams leap out of the books and animated classics to travel down the parade route and entertain young and old in an elaborate calvacade featuring giant floats, dancers, stilt walkers and certainly the famous characters we all dreamed of joining in their wonderland! Now all you need to do is stretch out your hand...

It is "Just Like We Dreamed It" as the rising pop song already declares before the first float moves in sight. The imaginative pop-duet (written by Sunny Hilden) picks up the "theme" of the parade and functions as its musical theme. And if all guests are ready to dream ... just as the last tone of the song drifts away, they come around the bend of the parade route ... our old friends! There are Pluto, Chip'n'Dale and many more of our Disney friends running ahead of the float of Imagination: a giant story book above which Mickey and Minnie in their festive dresses soar in a hot air balloon. A closer look shows that the balloon transforms into the sun, while a smiling moon rests on the pages of the giant book with Donald and Goofy also around as our guides into the Imagination.

So let's step into the wonderland - Alice's Wonderland to be exact where the themes of Fun & Laughter are evoked. There are the marching play cards ready to paint the roses red and over there, isn't this the Heart Queen? But where is Alice?? Oh - there she is! Stuck in the little hut as she suddenly grew larger! In the shade the grinning Cheshire Cat relaxes, while the singing flowers swing along to the symphonic score of themes from the animated classic. If you are lucky and the parade stops now in front of you, you can even join into the fun of the unbirthday party to the tunes of the parade's theme song - complete with cookies handed out! The rear of the float shows a giant cuckoo-clock crafted by Gepetto who's Pinocchio is spreading fun and laughter together with the puppets on the string flying up and down on the float as well as those getting up and close to the guests along the parade route thanks to the puppet players on their stilts.

At the heart of many, many adventures in fairy tales, storybooks and the Disney classics is eternal Friendship - the theme of the next dream / float. And who would be better suited to personify the theme of friendship than the cast of the Toy Story and Winnie the Pooh stories? Behind the green army man from Toy Story the pages of a giant book open up: on the first pages the characters from Toy Story leap to life, including Buzz, Slinky Dog, Rex, Bo Peep, Jessie and certainly Woody seated on the back of Bullseye! In the rear of the book the stories of Winnie the Pooh come alive who is ready to celebrate a party in front of his house under the watchfull eyes of Owl while Tigger joyfully jumps around behind the float.

No dream could be without Fantasy ... which leads us to ... Neverland! Hook and his pirate crew is already here ready to take over the parade route, while Tick-Tock, the crocodile patiently waits at the bow of the pirate ship. There is Tinkerbell near the top of the mast, Peter Pan jumping around the ship and Wendy who just droped in from London - the city in which Mary Poppins and Bert await us on their magical carousel at the back of the float to take us to their wonderland in which penguins dance along.

But where there is fun and laughter, imagination and fantasy there is also the dark Power of the Disney Villains who certainly command their own giant float in this parade. Over the rocky mountain towers Chernabog stretching out his arms to reach to the guests while smoke billows out of the steaming rocks and a burning smell hangs around. There is Scar staring straight into the eyes of his next snack and Hades leaning out, as well as the Evil Queen next to her cauldron and Jafar as giant, hissing snake. But as majestic as Chernabog may be or as giant Ursula the squid may be, who even got her two "friends" Flotsam and Jetsam to follow the float - the star of the float clearly is Maleficient in her unbelievable fiery dress throning near the front of the float, right behind the dancers introducing the villains.

However, there is no need to be afraid as the heroes of daring Adventure await on the next float to bring back the light and fun. The colorful depths of the jungle are ewoked together with its exotic, rich animal life as giraffe, an elephant and ostriches walk around the lush flaot that features Simba, Pumba and Timon and their friends from Disney's The Lion King on the front half as well as Kaa, Baloo, King Louie and the cast of Disney's Jungle Book on the rear half. Especially the latter make sure that there is enough fun and laughter amidst the adventure in the jungle to make the Villains forgotten (even so Shere Khan lurks amid the vegetation as well). The African drumers playing on the float certainly help giving it a unique exotic feeling as well.

So what ingredient is still missing from the world of dreams? Romance! And as with every good fairy tale the love that comes true is the fitting finale for the parade - not with one but two floats surrounded by beautiful, dancing flower girls. Atop the first float Ariel, the little mermaid (as mermaid), and her prince Eric are greeting guests. And once the float stops a real waterfall magically appears while little cherubim (from Fantasia) look on. But don't miss Aladdin and his princess Jasmin who play on a swing in the palace's garden (on the back of the float). Further on in the gardens with its flower smell enveloping the guests (already on the second float) Belle and her Beast waltz in a little pavillion, while Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty - all with their princes - stroll around the gardens of the giant float complete with a majestic bridge and up a little hill to a crystall castle in the distance. They are, as the little dragon baby in its small cave at the rear end informs guests, "just married" - what a finale for the parade.

An entertaining theme song, which plays before and after the parade as well as during parade stops, imaginative floats like never before, countless Disney characters that get up to the guests during the parade stops, dancers and a great musical score for each float awake memories and let the stories come alive. The creative team clearly looked at what guests loved most about past parades and merged it with new concepts and ideas. The result is a surprisingly immersive parade. While the majority of the guests might not catch the concept of the seven dreams as it is not explained at any point, this has no effect on the experience of the parade which catches guests and draws them into the magical worlds. The decision to feature at least two different classics on the floats makes sure there is always something to see, even once a float has passed by, since a totally different scene is presented on its backside. The result is an even fuller packed parade allowing more guests to see their preffered Disney character in its own, unique setting.

With its eight majestic floats full of colorful details, surprising effects (all the way to aerial acrobats and waterfalls) and the most loved characters from the animated Disney classics "Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade" really makes dreams come true for guests of all ages. A must see - no question. And the best: the dreams go on after the parade. Even so its grand finale float is showing a perfect happy ending here at the Disneyland Park a "happy ending's just beginning" - as the parade song tells us.

Mit der Hilfe von etwas Disney Magie verlassen die Träume ihr Reich der Bücher und Filme und rollen die Paradenroute entlang zur Freude von Jung und Alt - mit großen Prunkwagen, Tänzern, Stelzenläufern, und, und, und ...

Es ist "Just Like We Dreamed It" ("Genau wie wir es träumten"), wie schon der stimmige Pop-Song erklärt noch bevor der erste Wagen in Sicht kommt. Das phantasievolle Pop-Duet (von Sunny Hilden) greift das Thema der Parade auf und dient selbst als ihr musikalisches Thema. Und kaum ist der letzte Ton des Songs verklungen, tauchen sie auch schon auf: unsere alten Freunde. Da sind Pluto, A- und B-Hörnchen und viele mehr, die alle vor dem ersten Wagen Imagination die Parade eröffnen. Der Wagen zeigt ein riesiges Buch über dem Mickey und Minnie in feinster Abendgardrobe in einem Heißluftballon schweben. Ein näherer Blick zeigt, dass der Ballon sich in die Sonne verwandelt, während ein lachender Mond auf dem Buch ruht - auch Donald und Goofy sind dabei als unsere Führer in die Imagination.

Als auf in die Wunderwelt - genauer in die Wunderwelt von Alice, wo die Träume von Lachen & Spaß gefeiert werden. Dort marschieren die Spielkarten und auch die Herzkönigin ist nicht weit. Aber wo ist Alice? Oh - dort! Sie ist im Haus stecken geblieben, als sie plötzlich gewachen ist! In ihrem Schatten ruht sich die grinzende Katze aus und die singenden Blumen wiegen sich im Takt der symphonischen Musik aus dem Film. Stoppt genau jetzt die Parade, kann der Gast sogar zu den Klängen des Pop-Songs der Parade an der Nicht-Geburtstags-Party teilnehmen - inkl. Cookies!
Die Rückseite des Wagens präsentiert sich als gigantische Kuckucks-Uhr, die Gepetto geschnitzt hat. Hier verbreitet Pinocchio gemeinsam mit den Marionetten hoch in den Lüften über dem Wagen aber Dank der Stelzenläufer auch ganz nah an den Gästen Spaß und Freude.

Zentrales Element zahlreiche Geschichten, Märchen und der Disney Klassiker ist die ewige Freundschaft - das Thema des nächsten Traums / Wagens. Und wer wäre besser geeignet als die Stars aus Toy Story und den Geschichten von Winnie Puuh um Freundschaft zu repräsentieren? Hinter den grünen Soldaten erscheinen auf den ersten Seiten eines Buch die Figuren aus Toy Story und erwachen zum Leben: Buzz, Slinky Dog, Rex, Bo Peep, Jessie und natürlich Woody auf dem Rücken seines treuen Bullseye. Auf den hinteren Seiten des Buches erwartet uns Winnie Puuh, der vor seinem Haus unter den wachsamen Augen von Eule eine Party feiert, während Tigger hinter dem Wagen die Paradenroute entlang springt.

Kein Traum wäre ohne Phantasie möglich - und das führt uns nach ... Nimmerland! Hook und seine Piraten sind schon bereit, die Paradenroute zu übernehmen, aber da ist ja noch Tick-Tock das vor dem Bug des Schiffes geduldig wartet. Nahe der Spitze des Mastes ist Fee Glöckchen zu sehen, Peter Pan turnt über das Schiff und auch Wendy ist gerade aus London eingetroffen - die Stadt, in der uns Mary Poppins und Bert auf ihrem phantastischen Karussell erwarten, das uns in eine andere Welt führt ... zu tanzenden Pinguinen.

Doch wo Spaß und Freunde, Imagination und Phantasie sind, da ist auch die dunkle Macht der Disney Bösewichte nicht weit, die in dieser Parade ihren eigenen Wagen haben. Über einem steinigen Berg thront hier Chernabog, seine Arme gefährlich ausgestreckt zu den Gästen, während Rauch aus den Rissen des Berges schießt und ein verbrannter Geruch sich verbreitet. Da ist Scar zu sehen und Hades lehnt sich aus seinem Streitwagen, während die Böse Hexe in ihrem Kessel rührt und Jafar als gigantische Schlange erscheint. Doch wie majestätisch Chernabog oder wie groß Ursula als Tintenfisch, der ihre Helfer Flotsam und Jetsam hinter dem Wagen folgen, auch sein mögen - der echte Star des Wagens ist Malefiz, die in einem unglaublichen, feurigen Kleid, das nicht enden will, auf dem Wagen thront, der von den Tänzern eingeführt wird.

Aber keine Angst, auf dem nächsten Wagen warten schon die Helden aufregender Abenteuer und verbreiten wieder gute Stimmung. Hier präsentiert sich der farbenfrohe Dschungel mit exotischen Tieren, wie Giraffen, Elephanten und Vogel Strauß, die rund um den Wagen laufen. Auf dem Wagen lassen sich im vorderen Bereich Simba, Pumba und Timon aus Disney's König der Löwen, auf dem hinteren Bereuch Baluh, Louie und die anderen tierischen Stars aus Disney's Dschungelbuch die Paradenroute entlang fahren. Besonders die Stars aus dem Dschungelbuch sorgen mit den afrikanischen Trommlern dafür, dass der Spaß hier nicht zu kurz kommt - auch wenn Shere Khan aus den Tiefen des Dschungels starrt.

Was fehlt jetzt noch für ein richtiges Märchen? Romantik! Wie bei jedem guten Märchen so bildet auch bei dieser Parade die Liebe, die sich findet, den krönenden Abschluss - mit gleich zwei Wagen, begleitet von wunderschönen Blumenmädchen und einem betörenden Blumenduft. Von dem ersten Wagen grüßen Ariel, die kleine Meerjungfrau (als Meerjungfrau), und ihr Prinz Eric, hinter denen kleine Cherubim (aus Fantasia) schweben. Stoppt der Wagen, so erscheint auf magische Weise sogar ein echter Wasserfall. Dabei sollte man aber nicht Aladdin und seine Jasmin vergessen, die sich im hinteren Teil des Wagens auf einer Schaukel in den Palastgärten vergnügen. Weiter in den Gärten, schon auf dem zweiten Wagen, tanzen die Schöne und das Biest in einem kleinen Pavillon, während Cinderella, Schneewittchen und Dornrösschen - mit ihren Prinzen - durch die Gärten wandeln, die eine große Brücke mit einem kleinen Hügel verbindet, auf dem ein Kristallschloss in der Ferne glitzert. Die Paare sind, wie ein kleiner Drache in seiner Höhle auf der Rückseite des Wagens mitteilt: "frisch verheiratet" - was für ein Finale.

Ein unterhaltsamer Theme-Song, der vor und nach der Parade spielt sowie während der Stops, phantasievolle Wagen wie nie zuvor, zahllose Disney Charaktere, die während der Stops zu den Gästen kommen, Tänzer und eine musikalische Untermahlung, die für jeden Wagen mit passenden Themen hilft die Erinnerung und Träume zum Leben zu erwecken. Das Kreativteam hat die bei den Gästen beliebtesten Elemente bisherigen Paraden mit neuen Konzepten und Ideen verbunden. Das Ergebnis ist eine beeindruckende Parade, die die Gäste in ihren Bann zieht. Das Konzept der sieben Träume erschließt sich zwar nicht, das tut dem Zauber der Parade aber keinen Abbruch. Die Entscheidung, auf den Wagen zu präsentieren, stellt sicher, dass es zu jedem Zeitpunkt etwas zu sehen gibt, auch wenn ein Wagen gerade vorbeigezogen ist, da sich auf seiner Rückseite eine völlig neue Szene entfaltet. Das Ergebnis ist eine noch kurzweiligere Parade, die mehr Gästen eine Chance gibt ihren Lieblingscharakter in seiner eigenen Szene zu erleben.

Mit ihren acht großen Wagen voller farbenprächtiger Details, überraschenden Effekten (von Luftakrobaten bis hin zu einem Wasserfall) und den beliebtesten Disney-Charakteren lässt "Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade" Träume wirklich für Gäste jeden Alters wahr werden. Ohne Frage ein "Muss" für jeden Gast. Und das Beste: nach der Parade gehen die Träume weiter, denn auch wenn der letzte Wagen ein perfektes Happy End zeigt - im Disneyland Park "happy ending's just beginning" ("ist ein Happy End nur ein Beginn"), wie der Song der Parade mitteilt.

 No matter where you want to watch the parade, depending on how crowded the park is, you should show up 15 to 60 minutes in advance. The only place to watch the parade seated (unless sitting on the curb) is at the Castle Stage, but these seats (which can be really cold in winter) are usually occupied early up. But what about combining a great meal with a good view? Both is provided on the first floor of Walt's on the Main Street, U.S.A.. Just note that Cast Members won't be able to guarantee a window-seat in advance.

Most guests line up along the Main Street, U.S.A. and around Central Plaza for the unique sight of the parade with the castle as backdrop, while it is by far less crowded in Fantasyland in front of and opposite of the Pizzeria Bella Notte. There are also four points from where to get an elevated view of the parade: right in front of the queuing area of it's a small world, the balcony on top of the director's booth behind the seats of the Castle Stage, the pavilion at Town Square and finally the Main Street Station of the railroad (usually the most crowded of these four places that expecially the photographers like). The incredible details and the great atmosphere of the parade make it worth watching it more than once - if you return for a repeat encounter with your dreams make sure to watch the parade from the opposite side of the parade route, as some of the floats feature different details (and characters) on their two sides! E.g. The Villain's float features Scar on the left side and the Evil Queen on the right side (if seen facing the front of the float).

If you happen to stand close to the dancing cards from Alice in Wonderland during a show stop look out for the coockies they hand out!

 Unabhängig davon, wo Sie die Parade genießen wollen, sollten sie abhängig von dem Andrang im Park 15 bis 60 Minuten vor Beginn eintreffen. Der einzige Platz von dem aus die Parade im Sitzen zu sehen ist (mit Ausnahme der Bordsteine), ist die Castle Stage, doch diese Plätze (die im Winter sehr kühl sein können) sind meist früh besetzt. Aber warum nicht ein hervorragendes Essen mit einem guten Blick auf die Parade kombinieren? Beides bietet Walt's im ersten Stock auf der Main Street, U.S.A.. Allerdings können die Cast Member hier keine Tische am Fenster vorab garantieren.

 Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade premiered on March 31, 2007 (after several days of previews) during the VIP & press event that started the resort's 15th anniversary celebrations. Therefore the parade's theme song also functioned as the theme song for the anniversary celebrations. It replaced the Princess' Parade which was a shortened version of the Wonderful World of Disney Parade that premiered in 1998 and had featured several floats from the original opening day parade of 1992. In contrast all floats of Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade were created especially for the parade and premiered with it - even so guests of the Disneyland Park, Anaheim, will notice that some floats (such as for Alice in Wonderland & Pinocchio) and some concepts (such as the stilt walkers with puppets for Pinocchio) were inspired by the "Parade of Dreams" that premiered as part of that resort's 50th anniversary celebration. But fans of DLRP might also recognize some of the large animals walking in front of the float featuring The Lion King (the giraffe, the elephant, the ostriches) as they originally premiered as part of the Lion King Festival.

A premiere for a parade at the Disneyland Resort Paris is the use of scents - some floats feature special set-ups through which they emit scents fitting to the scenes depicted. Most noteably this is the case with the floats of the final section, which feature a sweet, flowery scent.

With this parade Disneyland Resort Paris reintroduced the concept of unique instrumental scores for each float and limited the use of it's theme song to the waiting time before the parade arrives, the show stops and the "exit"-segment, once the last float has passed by. Both, the songs and the score, were written and recorded especially for the parade. The score is performed by the London Symphonic Orchestra and consists for each float out of a suite capturing the musical essence of the depicted classics by blending the different main melodies into one floating symphony. So far the score has not been released on CD, while the theme song is available in the resort on a 2-track single (EDDA036-2) featuring the song and an instrumental version. The 2-disc anniversary set "15 Ans de Magie en Musique" (EDDA035-2) features the regular song only. For a change the theme song was not written by the resort's musical director Vasile Sirli (who function as co- executive producer for it) but by songwriter Sunny Hilden, who already wrote the theme song for the "Eureka Parade" at Disney's California Adventure ("Come Away With Me").

Finally some details for all fans of hard numbers: more than 1,300 costumes were manufactured for the parade using more than 13 kilometer of fabric (including more than 300 meter silk and 400 meter brocade), 50 kilometer yarn, 1,200 stars, 700 clouds, 3,000 pearls, 700 buttons! Also more than 500 pairs of boots were designed and manufactured. Overall more than 100 costume experts were occupied for a full year to create the magic of the dreams now parading through the park every day of the year. To manage this hugh project DLRP's costume department was supported by external studios in Paris and London.

 Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade feierte am 31. März 2007 (nach mehreren Previews) offiziell Premiere während des VIP & Presse Events zum Start der Feierlichkeiten anlässlich 15 Jahren Disneyland Resort Paris. Aus diesem Grund wurde auch der Theme-Song der Parade als Theme-Song der Feierlichkeiten eingesetzt. Die Parade ersetzte die Princess' Parade, bei der es sich um eine gekürzte Version der Wonderful World of Disney Parade handelte, die 1998 Premiere feierte, teilweise aber noch Wagen aus der ersten Parade von 1992 enthielt. Im Gegensatz hierzu wurden alle Wagen der Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade speziell für diese Parade gebaut - auch wenn Gäste des Disneyland Parks, Anaheim, sicherlich erkennen, dass einige der Wagen (z.B. für Alice im Wunderland & Pinocchio) und einige Konzepte (wie Stelzenläufer mit Marionetten) von der "Parade of Dreams" inspiriert wurden, die dort zum 50. Geburtstag Premiere feierte. Fans des DLRP werden sich eventuell auch an die großen Tiere erinnern, die vor dem Wagen mit dem König der Löwen Teil der Parade sind (die Giraffe, der Elephant, die Vogel Strauß) - sie waren ursprünglich Teil des Lion King Festivals.

Eine Premiere für das Disneyland Resort Paris stellt die Verwendung von Duftstoffen in der Parade dar. Einige der Wagen versprühen zu ihren Themen passende Düfte in das Publikum. Besonders auffällig ist dies bei den beiden Wagen des letzten Abschnitts, die einen süßlichen Blumenduft einsetzen.

Mit der Parade ist das Disneyland Resort Paris zu dem Konzept unabhängiger instrumentaler Scores für jeden Wagen zurückgekehrt und setzt den Theme-Song lediglich noch vor und nach der Parade sowie während der Paraden-Stops ein. Sowohl der Song als auch der Score wurden speziell für die Parade geschrieben und aufgenommen. Eingespielt wurde der Score durch das London Symphonic Orchestra. Er besteht für jeden Wagen aus einer Suite, die die musikalischen Themen der dargestellten Disney Klassiker präsentiert, in dem die musikalischen Themen zu einer neuen Mini-Symphonie zusammengestellt wurden. Bisher ist der Score allerdings nicht auf CD erhältlich - anders als der Theme-Song der auf einer 2-Track-Single (EDDA036-2) veröffentlicht wurde, die den Song und eine Instrumentalversion enthält. Außerdem ist der Song auf dem 2-Disc-Set "15 Ans de Magie en Musique" (EDDA035-2) zu finden. Geschrieben wurde er, anders als seine Vorgänger, nicht von dem Musical Director des Resorts Vasile Sirli (der aber als Co-Executive Producer fungierte), sondern von Sunny Hilden, die bereits den Theme-Song "Come Away With Me" für die "Eureka Parade" in Disney's California Adventure verfasste.

Zum Abschluss einige harten Fakten für Zahlenfans: für die Parade wurden mehr als 1.300 Kostüme geschneidert, die mehr als 13 Kilometer Stoff (inkl. 300 Meter Seide und 400 Meter Brokat), 50 Kilometer Faden, 1.200 Sterne, 700 Wolken, 3.000 Perlen und 700 Knöpfe benötigen. Zudem wurden mehr als 500 Paar Stiefel entworfen und hergestellt. Insgesamt waren damit mehr als 100 Kostümexperten für ein Jahr ausgelastet, weshalb die Kostümabteilung des Resorts durch Studios in London und Paris unterstützt wurde.
