 Blanche-Neige et les Septs Nains ( = Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) is one of Fantasyland's three "dark" rides (along with Pinocchios fantastic Journey and Peter Pan's Flight) which tell the story of a classic Disney film.

The ride starts innocently enough as guests join the dwarfs as they dance around in their cottage. But danger lurks outside the window in the form of the Wicked Queen who cackles something sinister (in French - you can just tell she is up to no good).

After a short trip through the dwarf's jewel mine guests enter the Wicked Queen's castle just in time for a magic mirror transformation sequence (in which she transforms herself into the old hag). Next comes a trip through the dark dungeons complete with spooky skeletons just before meeting with the old hag brewing up a poison apple. Then it's off to the haunted woods where the trees have faces and the branches seem to reach out as arms.

But as in all Disney film's good overcomes evil and the Wicked Queen meets a timely death leaving just enough time for a curtain call from the Prince and Snow White herself.

 Blanche-Neige et les Septes Nains ( = Schneewittchen und die Sieben Zwerge) ist der "Dark Rides" in Fantasyland (neben Pinocchios fantastic Journey und Peter Pan's Flight), welche die Geschichten ihrer entsprechenden Disney Meisterwerke nacherzählen.

Die Fahrt beginnt ganz unschuldig mit den Zwergen, die in ihrer Hütte tanzen. Aber das Böse lauert hinter dem Fenster in der Gestalt der Bösen Königin, die etwas vor sich hinmurmelt (auf Französisch - doch ist klar, dass sie nichts Gutes im Sinn hat).

Nach einem kurzen Abstecher durch die Diamantenmine der Zwerge kommt man in das Schloss der Königin - genau rechtzeitig in dem Moment, in dem Sie sich in die alte Hexe verwandelt. Weiter geht es durch die dunklen Verließe voller Skelette bevor wir das alte Weib wieder treffen, wie sie gerade ihren vergifteten Apfel fertigstellt. In den gespenstischen Wälder scheinen dann die Bäume verzerrte Gesichter zu haben und nach uns greifen zu wollen...

Doch wie in allen Disneyfilmen siegt das Gute über das Böse und die Königin erhält ihr angemessenes Schicksal und Schneewittchen kann mit ihrem Prinzen in ihr Märchenschloss einziehen.

 The wealth of detail included in the ride means that there is plenty to notice with each new trip. Keep an eye on the poison apple the old hag is holding it as you pass, for one such Disney detail.

 Die Fülle an Details in dieser Attraktionen sorgt dafür, dass man bei jeder Fahrt neues entdecken kann. Achten Sie auch auf den vergifteten Apfel, den die Alte Ihnen entgegenstreckt, um eines dieser Disneydetails zu entdecken...

 "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" was a breakthrough achievement for animation and its place in movie history.

It took more than three years to produce and costed a (for those days) startling $1,5 million. Bold new experiments had to be done in preparation for this movie like the invention of the multiplane camera, learning how to animate a fairy tale princess that was supposed to look like a human and not like one of Mickey Mouse's friends and even such simple things like aquiring new desks, because the cels for a animated feature had to be larger than those for the cartoon shorts.

And many had doubts about Walt Disney's vision of a full-lenght animated feature movie and if those investments would pay off. Would anyone be willing to sit for one and a half hours just to watch a cartoon? 
As it turned out, a lot of people would do that. Maybe because "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" was not just a cartoon: it was a beautiful fairy tale with unforgetable characters, wonderful music and - overall - a great movie.

"Snow White"'s premiere in December 1937 in Hollywood's Carthay Circle Theater was a triumph for Walt Disney and the more than 1.000 people that worked at the Disney Studios at that time. For his masterpiece, Walt Disney was rewarded with a special Academy Award: one large Oscar and seven little ones...

"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" was the highest grossing movie ever - at least untill "Gone with the Wind" was released a few years later. It was dubbed into ten languages and the reaction of audiences worldwide was overwhelming. To date, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" has generated several billion dollars and has become the most profitable movie of all time - and more important: one of Walt Disney's most memorable and most beautiful classics...

 "Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge" stellte einen Durchbruch für den Zeichentrickfilm und dessen Platz in der Filmgeschichte dar.
Es dauerte mehr als drei Jahr um ihn zu produzieren und verschlang eine (für damalige Verhältnisse) schwindelerregende Summe von $1,5 Millionen.

Gewagte neue Experimente mussten im Vorfeld des Films unternommen werden wie die Erfindung der Multiplane Kamera, das Erlernen wie man eine Märchenprinzessin animiert, die nicht aussehen sollte wie einer von Mickys Freunden und auch kleine Dinge wie beispielsweise den Kauf neuer Zeichentische, das die Zeichnungen für einen abendfüllenden Trickfilm größer sein mussten als für einen der kurzen Cartoons.

Und viele hatten Zweifel an Walt Disneys Vision eines abendfüllenden Zeichentrickfilms und ob diese Investitionen sich auszahlen würden. Würde sich überhaupt jemand finden, der bereit war anderthalb Stunden still zu sitzen nur um einen Cartoon zu sehen?

Wie sich heruasstellte, gab es eine ganze Menge Leute, die das taten. Vielleicht genau deshalb, weil "Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge" nich nur ein Cartoon war: es war ein wunderschönes Märchen mit unvergesslichen Fihuren, wundervoller Musik und darüberhinaus ein großartiger Film.

"Schneewittchen"'s Premiere im Dezember 1937 in Hollywoods Carthay Circle Theater wurde zum Triumph für Walt Disney und den mehr als 1.000 Mitarbeitern der Disney Studios. Für sein Meisterwerk wurde Walt Disney mit einen ganz besonderen Academy Award ausgezeichnet: einen großen und sieben kleine Oscars...

"Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge" hatte die höchsten Einspielergebnisse für einen Film aller Zeiten - zu mindestens bis einige Jahre später "Vom Winde verweht" in die Kinos kam. Er wurde in zehn Sprachen übersetzt und die Reaktion des Publikums weltweit war überwältigend. Bis Heute hat "Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge" mehrere Milliarden Dollar eingespielt und wurde zum profitabelsten Film aller Zeiten - und noch wichtiger: es wurde zu einem von Walt Disneys unvergesslichsten und wunderschönsten Klassikern...

 There are notices at the entrance that warn that the ride's content may not be suitable for young children but these are often missed. The models included are situated much closer to the car than those at Phantom Manor therefore can have a more intense effect and the tone of the ride is much darker that any other Fantasyland attraction.

This said the vast majority of children do enjoy this ride but it is worth noting that it can be to intense for young or particularly sensitive children.

 Am Eingang der Attraktion finden sich Warntafeln, die darüber aufklären, dass Blanche-Neige et les Septs Nains eventuell nicht für kleinere Kinder geeignet ist, was jedoch oft übersehen wird. Die Schreckeffekte im Inneren sind einem viel näher als bei Phantom Manor, was viel erschreckender sein kann. Die Atmosphäre der Fahrt ist darüber hinaus viel dunkler als bei jeder anderen Fantasyland Attraktion.

Trotzdem sei gesagt, dass die meisten Kinder diese Attraktion lieben werden, nur sollte es erwähnt werden, dass sie für kleinere oder empfindliche Kinder zu erschreckend sein könnte.
