 Film fans will instantly recognise the name of this Restaurant from Disney’s hit film "Toy Story". This restaurant is a recreation of the "Pizza Planet" featured in the film, where Woody desperately tries to reunite himself and Buzz with Andy, but Buzz has other ideas.

Situated in the far corner of Discoveryland the entrance to Pizza Planet is hidden under the Disneyland Railroad tracks behind Space Mountain. Upon entering the lobby guests find a large replica of RC, the remote control car from the film, close by a "Guard Robots" also featured in the film overlook the doors to the main restaurant.

The restaurant is decorated with large neon lights and giant model planets, which hang from the ceiling. The dinning area is made up from a large number of stainless steel chairs arranged around matching tables. In one corner is a child’s play area which features giant replicas of many of the Toy Story characters such as a "Slinky" crawling tube and a "Rex" slide, whilst in the centre of the restaurant stands an oversized grabber machine full with alien toys.

While the parents relax and the younger children enjoy the playground teens can play on several arcade games also found in the restaurant (cover charge applies), true to the arcade-style of the restaurant in the animated feature.

 Fans von Disneys "Toy Story" werden den Namen dieses Restaurants sofort wiedererkennen: dieses Restaurant soll das "Pizza Planet"-Fast Food Restaurant aus dem Film darstellen, in dem Woody verzweifelt versucht, sich und Buzz wieder mit Andy zu vereinen - doch der Space Ranger hat eigene Pläne...

In einer der hinteren Ecken von Discoveryland verborgen, führt ein Weg unter den Schienen der Disneyland Railroad zum Eingang von Pizza Planet. Dort finden Besucher als erstes ein Nachbau von Turbo, dem ferngesteuerten Rennauto aus dem Film sowie einen "Wachroboter", der hier wie in "Toy Story" den Eingang zum Restaurant bewacht.

Das Restaurant selbst ist mit großen Neonlichtern und riesigen Planetenmodellen dekoriert, die von der Decke hängen. In der Mitte finden sich die metallenen Tische und Stühle, während in einer Ecke ein kleiner Kinderspielplatz steht, der mit großen Nachbauten von einigen Figuren aus "Toy Story" wie Slinky und Rex lockt (der hier als Rutsche fungiert).
Ganz im Zentrum des Restaurant steht dann noch eine überdimensionale Greif-Maschine, angefüllt mit den kleinen Grünen Männchen.
Während die jüngsten den Spielplatz erkunden und die Elterns sich entspannen, können sich Teens an den Spielautomaten vergnügen (gegen Gebühr), wie auch die Gäste des Restaurants im Zeichentrickfilm.

 The small kids play area and huge popularity of the Toy Story films must be the main reason this restaurant remains so busy, as it certainly isn’t the food, which is mediocre at its best (even though they offer the "Pizza Burger", which is unique to DLP). The fact that the restaurant is built in a large, poorly themed metal box also lends nothing to the atmosphere.

One Plus: from time to time, characters from "Toy Story" appear at the restaurant for a meet and greet.

 Der Kinderspielplatz - nahe einer Thrill-Attraktion wie Space Mountain - und die Beliebtheit der "Toy Story" Filme müssen der Hauptgrund dafür sein, dass dieses Restaurant so gut besucht ist. Das Essen ist jedoch maximal nur von mittlerer Qualität (selbst wenn hier die DLP-eigene Kreation eines "Pizza Burgers" serviert wird). Dass dieses Restaurant in einer großen Metallkiste errichtet wurde, hilft der Atmosphäre auch nicht unbedingt.

Ein Plus jedoch: hier kann man hie und da immer mal wieder die "Toy Story"-Figuren antreffen.

 The Pizza Planet Restaurant was actually almost completly destroyed during the heavy storm, that hit Europe at Christmas 1999.

The restaurant - which was just put into Discoveryland as a temporary solution against the long lines at DLP's fast-food restaurants - had to be rebuilt and opened again in early summer 2000.

It's original name was Buzz Lightyear's Pizza Planet till the first part was dropped sometime between Halloween and Christmas 2001. Why? Fans, once they recognized it in early 2002, assumed it might be because plans for a Buzz Lightyear attraction were progressing (which was officially announced only in early 2005) and the park was trying to avoid guest messing up the restaurant and the ride as early as possible.

The latest change was the addition of arcade games in spring 2003 which came from the Arcade des Visionnaires as its successor was limited to half of the formerly used area.

 The Pizza Planet Restaurant wurde bei dem heftigen Sturm, der ganz Europa zu Weihnachten 1999 traf, tatsächlich fast vollständig zerstört.

Das Restaurant - das eigentlich nur als kurzfristige Lösung gegen die langen Schlangen von Disneylands Fast-Food Restaurants gedacht war - musste ganz neu aufgebaut werden und konnte schließlich im Frühsommer 2000 wieder eröffnet werden.

Der ursprüngliche Name des Restaurants war übrigens Buzz Lightyears' Pizza Planet, wurde aber zwischen Halloween und Weihnachten 2001 geändert. Warum? Fans nahmen an, als es Anfang 2002 auffiel, Pläne für eine Buzz Lightyear Attraktion könnten der Grund sein (die jedoch erst Anfang 2005 bestätigt wurden) und der Park wolle Namensverwechslungen vorbeugen.

Die letzte Veränderung stand im Frühjahr 2003 an, als Spielautomaten aus der ehemaligen Arcade des Visionnaires aufgestellt wurden, da der Nachfolger der Spielhalle zu wenig Raum bot.
